Women's Aid is the key national charity working to end domestic abuse/ violence against women and children. Women’s Aid helps around 250’000 women and children each year and given that 16% of all reported violent crime is domestic abuse, have a considerable task to raise awareness, deliver provisions and improve protection.
Women’s Aid have been at the forefront of domestic abuse issues in Bucks and, with the input of additional partners, have seen an increase in reporting by 90% (domestic violence only common assault) and 58% (domestic violence only wounding) respectively.
They have shaped domestic abuse reduction initiatives across the district including ‘There’s no excuse for domestic abuse’ campaign, and outreach workers providing an invaluable service to the community.
